Aim

Help us get disabled artist and activist Keron Day's debut play to Edinburgh Fringe 2026!

ABOUT THE SHOW

Written by disabled actor and activist Keron Day with former care worker Alex Howarth and acclaimed performer Helen Chong (My Neighbour Totoro, West End), 'You and Me (and Whoever Comes Next)' is inspired by Keron's own true story and his relationship with his personal assistants. It unpacks the complex relationship between a disabled person and their PAs, something which is a fundamental part of Keron's life, having had PAs since the age of 18. It explores the devastating impact of bad care, and the extraordinary impact of good. The show will be produced by Patch of Blue (Best Theatre of Edinburgh Fringe 2022, Lyn Gardner- The Stage), 3 hearts canvas (SPIN - Best Solo Show of The Fringe, Theatre Weekly) and Hall for Cornwall.

WHAT WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE

Premiering the debut play by a disabled artist based on their own life story at the Edinburgh Fringe is a powerful and important statement and will go some small way to addressing the lack of disabled representation on Fringe stages. We want to show it is possible for a disabled artist to perform at the Fringe and so encourage other companies to support disabled artists to do so. We want to reach a disabled audience in Edinburgh in order that they can see a story they can relate to told authentically onstage, and see themselves represented at the world's biggest arts festival. As an experienced company with a following in Edinburgh built over ten years we feel a responsibility to use the platform we have been given to amplify disabled voices and address the lack of disabled representation in theatre which, if it is to improve, must start at the Fringe.

Performing in Edinburgh will give us the opportunity to showcase the play to producers and venues and allow us to build a tour of the show for 2027, reaching untold numbers of disabled audiences across the country, as well as secure a London run for the show, showcasing Keron as a writer. Previous Edinburgh runs have led to us being able to share our work all over the world and be seen by thousands of people, and we would love 'You and Me' to have the same future.

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

Your donation will help fund the accessible accommodation we have secured in Edinburgh and marketing to expand and diversify our audience, as well as our travel costs from Cornwall to Edinburgh. Without this support we will be guaranteed a financial loss, jeopardising the future of both the show and us as a company.
