Featuring an all female cast and creative team, with our story we ask the audience the question; can evil be made?
We are a theatre troupe formed of alumni from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The concept for our musical was developed as part of the MA Musical Theatre programme and we have since advanced the workshop into a one hour show.
The original creators are now members of the creative team and we have employed professional actors as the performers. Although we do not advertise as a jukebox musical, the score of X draws influence from the musical catalogue of Fleetwood Mac, X explores the lives of the women associated with the Charles Manson cult in 1960s California. The audience are introduced to the young vulnerable women, who were lured to his ranch and manipulated by Manson. Although they are at the mercy of Manson, together they are a murderous drugged-addled machine, who pledge allegience to Manson and vow to “never break The Chain”. We follow their relationships with each other, the families they leave behind, and their ever-growing dependence on the man they see as God. Learning of their exposures to brutality and abuse in their adolescence, will the audience sympathise with the girls? Will the audience also be manipulated by Manson’s charismatic spell? Our story begins when new recruit Linda Kasabian is brought to the family and the dynamic of the group shows the cracks in its foundation. A pregnant Linda, uncertain of her new surroundings, forces the women to question their moralities and loyalties. The pressure intensifies when the cult are tasked with their most infamous operation, the brutal murder of Sharon Tate.
With the money we would raise from the crowd funder, we could finance;

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.
