We are raising funds to take our debut - a darkly comedic, fast-paced play about capitalism, loss, and grief - to the Fringe!
We are a queer/feminist-led Glaswegian theatre company ( @inksplattheatreco on Instagram ) that creates new comedic writing around anti-capitalism and corruption. Founded by two best friends, we strive to create theatre that is both personal and political, focusing on how world affairs affect the people in it.
With our latest play, we are a team of seven actors and ten crew (including us, the founders!) - our biggest and most ambitious group yet!

SUMMARY:
“Monday, 9am. Welcome to Last Resort Incorporated, where you get one last chance to really prove your worth to us!”
Robin is the newest employee in the office and she's not sure what’s worse: dealing with a printer that just never seems to work, or dealing with her eccentric co-workers. There’s a buzz in the air as Jones’s retirement party grows near... or maybe that’s the sound of flies circling the leftover lasagna. From cigarette boxes to ill-fitting suits, it’s almost time for the employees at Last Resort to face the music - or continue to look the other way.
ABOUT:
"what's rotting in the office fridge?" is a dark comedy about capitalism, denial, and running out of time. As our first Fringe show, we wanted to create a piece that holds a mirror up to society, allowing audiences to laugh and also question the world they live in. The six stock office characters - the workaholic, the incompetent boss, the equally incompetent suck-up, the personality hire, the cynical old woman, and the newbie -oscillate between being hilarious and being harrowing. Every part of the show, from the acting choices and costume/make-up to the lighting and sound, has been chosen to tell a story. It is our most complex, exciting show yet - and we can't wait for you to see it.

As a relatively new company, founded in July 2025, a majority of our cast and crew have never been to the Fringe. This exciting opportunity means we've created some goals for our run:
1. HAVE FUN. Our first and most important goal is to have fun! Our incredibly talented group deserve to take priority, and so we'll be ensuring our team's well-being and enjoyment at their first Fringe;
2. MAKE CONNECTIONS. We really want to emphasise meeting other creatives at this Fringe: this is very important to us too! (If you're a creative at the Fringe, reach out to us!) We aim to support other artists' shows at the Fringe this year along with our own;
3. PUT ON THE BEST SHOW POSSIBLE. Inksplat prides itself on producing high-quality productions. From the tech and behind-the-scenes to the actual show and characters, we encourage our team to create something that not only WE can be proud of, but THEY can be too. This makes our show at the Fringe one you don't want to miss!
4. FINANCE THE FRINGE COMFORTABLY. Our working-class company has existed for less than a year, meaning we are struggling to finance the Fringe without help from others. As a group of very passionate working-class volunteers, there's only so much of our own money we can use! Read on to see how you can help us out...

1. MARKETING. We were shocked to realise how expensive it is to have any kind of advertising at the Fringe, whether digital or physical. We haven't been able to afford the traditional ways of advertising done through the Fringe or venue itself, and as such, we intend to use this money to:
We're aiming to raise around £200 to afford advertisement at this smaller scale!
2. TRANSPORT. We absolutely cannot afford accommodation in Edinburgh for six days - so we're taking the bus! Our cast and crew will be reimbursed for their travel: for all cast and crew who need transport (six) for six return tickets, plus any travel necessary while in Edinburgh itself, this comes to roughly £400.
3. MISCELLANEOUS COSTS. The Fringe website advise that we budget around £200 for any unexpected costs that may arise: such as emergency travel if a bus breaks down, last-minute expenses such as broken props or damaged costumes, etc.
OVERALL:
With all this in mind, we are trying to raise £800 in total, though our first goal is £200! This is a LOT of money - but to be honest, this doesn't even include the cost of the venue, the cost of props and costume already bought, the cost of rehearsal spaces, etc... The Fringe has grown incredibly expensive over the last decade or so, and without support, this will be a major struggle for us. We're determined to make it work, and have already been raising funds for the venue and rehearsal space, but we need YOUR HELP for the costs mentioned above in this section. Help make our lives easier and our dreams possible!
GOAL ONE: £200
