THE FRINGE AND VAMPIRE’S BALL FOR 2020 

My daughter came home from the Halloween dance last year and said, "They played 3 total Halloween songs." I was incensed, so with Steve Goodie, I wrote 9 new classic Halloween songs. 

Then, I found zero brilliant Halloween Musical Extravaganzas! I was livid! So, we wrote the most Fun, Spookiest, Creepiest, Craziest, and Family-Friendly Halloween Show EVER!

From the brilliant minds behind I Can’t Wait, the Complete Harry Potter Compilation (Steve Goodie), and best-selling author of Don’t Feed the Bully, and Halloween Spooky Poems (Brad Tassell), comes the Halloween show that every child howls for and every parent is dying to sink their teeth into. Vampire’s Ball, Ultimate Halloween Party!

An extra silly & joyous, sing-and-dance-along sensational trip through the “haunted house” which is guaranteed to take the Fringe by storm.

Brad Tassell and Steve Goodie have been comedians, musicians, and all-around nutty goofballs for more than 30 years. As a team they are making their Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut with a show aimed squarely at kids and families who love Halloween all year long. They cannot wait for the world to see this hilarious, crazy, silly, spooky preview of the full show that comes to theSpace in 2021, when this award-winning team presents their first show at the Fringe.

HAPPY KIDS ARE LEARNING KIDS

I am a comedian and musician, but I am also an educator. I want to start by talking about where this all started, and what it means to me. I wrote some fun partner reading poems for my daughter’s pre-school class to help them start to learn reading and have a wonderful Halloween and quickly learned that the love and excitement for Halloween kids have is a great platform to grow in literacy. I have since done hundreds of programs for schools using these poems. (I still do many a year.) I then went one step farther and put music to the poems and it became even more fun! My friend and partner Steve Goodie helped create some classic songs that are incredibly entertaining, and the natural progression is bringing the sweetest, lightly spooky, family fun show to kids around the world. We can bring so much joy and of course some candy with help from the Fringe Folks. Halloween is the epic type of pretend and nothing brings smiles and creativity to kids and families than as show like Vampire’s Ball Ultimate Halloween Party. We have a true spooky mission to link literacy, fun, Halloween, joy, creativity, imagination, love of pretend, and even learning to see how scary isn’t scary at all.

WE HAVE LOST WHAT WE DO FOR A LIVING: FOR NOW!

The current Coronavirus Crisis has left both Steve and I without anywhere to work, and many people in the Comedy industry without an income. The 2020 Edinburgh Fringe has been cancelled, and our livelihoods have disappeared. I have made my living by 90% by working as a comedian on Carnival Cruise lines. That income also helped make sure I could work for schools for a loss and afford to lose the over $10,000 (split with Steve Goodie) to do the show at the Fringe. If we sold every ticket for full price, we would lose thousands, but love the Fringe and the opportunities it can afford, but with no income it becomes untenable. That is the reason, for the first time, we are asking for help.

WHERE DOES YOUR MONEY GO?

The video we are presenting this 2020 Fringe alone cost nearly 10 thousand dollars to create. We had to do it from separate homes.  Of course, travel from the United States to Edinburgh, staying in Scotland for the month in 2021. But it also helps programs for schools and keeping those programs affordable. The money also goes to help us tour and bring the show to smiling happy children anywhere in the world. These things in a non covid world, we might have been able to fund with our careers, but those do not exist. So, without help this show will most likely go no farther.
