Why this needs a stage, not just my head

Three years ago I moved to London trying to start something new — and  realised  that everything I thought I'd left behind came with me. We don't escape our roots. We are them!

Treasure Room turns that discovery into comedy:

After a disastrous first date, a woman comes home and finally asks the question she's spent her life avoiding: why has she never let anyone into her room? Opening that door means facing her family, her memories, the roots she'd boxed away, the exhausting weight of never feeling fully from here or from there.

It's funny. It's messy. For anyone who's ever left home to find themselves, only to find home waiting inside them the whole time.

This is a story about finally accepting your roots instead of running from them.

Meet the team!

Writer/Actress: Fernanda Delgado

A Mexican performer, writer and producer who moved to London three years ago to build a career on stage. Trained at LAMDA and Central School of Speech and Drama, she writes comedies that make you laugh while making you question your whole life decisions. She previously wrote, produced and performed Intimidades, which sold out its four-night run in Mexico City.

Director: Miguel Estrada

Mexican actor, director, clown, and musician. He studied at the National School of Theatrical Arts (ENAT). His work has been presented at festivals such as the International Cervantino Festival, the International Street Theatre Festival of Zacatecas, and Festiclown El Salvador. He specializes in verse, everyday humour, and working with children. He is currently Head of Social Communications at the National Association of Actors of Mexico (ANDA).

Where will the money go?

Taking a show to the Edinburgh Fringe is notoriously expensive. I am contributing all of my personal savings to the show, and hoping to have some further support! We are still a ways away from having the amount we need. Your donations will go towards...

• Production costs: Equipment  hire and transporting, fire proofing. 
• Venue costs: Ticket Commission for Venue and Fringe. 
• Marketing: Fringe registration, contribution to venue ,  basic web ads, PR support.
• Travel/Accommodation: Living costs for technical support + artist .
• Legal/ Licenses:  Insurance and Additional PPS/ PRL costs.
• Contingency.
