Aim

Help us take "The Other" to the Edinburgh Fringe and beyond, and build Azdora Theatre Company's profile.

The intro

After a short London-based run of our inaugural production - "The Other" - we are hoping to use the Edinburgh Fringe as a springboard for future productions of not only this play - which we think is a heart-warming and important piece of theatre that explores themes of migration, belonging and family relationships - but also to fuel future productions from the Azdora Theatre team

Who we are

Azdora Theatre is a core team of two: Evie Florence and Raffaella Sero. Evie's background as an actor-writer and Raff's background as a writer (and supreme pasta maker) mean they have the perfect combination of creativity, skill, enthusiasm and ragu! Our firm friendship was the start of this creative dream team, and since our first performance we've brought on board other exciting creatives driven to tell queer, immigrant and feminist stories, giving exciting and dynamic voices to previously under-represented people (and houses...).

We are also really excited to work again with the brilliantly talented director - Ariella Stoian - who directed our first run of 'The Other' in London, and our invaluable producer, Eloise Beaumont-Wood, without whom none of this would be possible.

Why it matters

Our play, "The Other" tells the story of a second-generation Italian-migrant family moving out of the home they have lived in for over 30 years. We explore the family's relationships, the struggles of belonging and connection across generations, cultures and genders, all from the perspective of the family home itself. Abandoned by the only family it has ever known, 'Home' is our brutally honest and painfully naive narrator, providing us with a window inside the walls of this family.  Ultimately, it is an exploration of the ability to open yourself up to love and connection even from the throes of heartache. Because we all deserve love and connection - even those of us made of brick and mortar.

What your money will do

Your money will help fund the £1200 venue hire fee, £400 Fringe registration fee, accommodation costs (approx £500) and marketing for our small but mighty play. We need all the help we can get to take "The Other" to the Fringe and share this beautiful story (and an excellent recipe for lasagna) with as many people as possible

Your help is hugely appreciated
