We're aiming to have some funds to provide accommodation for members of our team.
Hi! We're Speakbeast - we're an early-career, trans/queer theatre company based across England and Scotland, and we've made a show called The Freemartin.
Here's some copy that sums it up as well as we can:

Speakbeast are doing an agricultural conference, and it’s got all the things we think agricultural conferences usually have. We’ve got sleazy salesmen with very fast cars, we’ve got escaped cows, we’ve got two mice in a cardboard box and we’ve got a terrible feeling that, no matter how hard we try, this show is going to be about transphobia. The Freemartin is a puppet-filled, hormone-fuelled, absurd attempt by three queers to understand why the world is cruel to trans people, and why you should be worried about it. It’s also about fences, tractors and terrible dancing.

Our team is incredibly small, and we're lucky to have had some help in funding our venue hire costs, allowing us to even consider taking this show up to the Fringe in the first place. However, the reason we're asking for help is because - and this bit will be no surprise - Fringe is expensive, and funding is never enough. Unfortunately, this means we've had to turn to crowdfunding to raise the rest of the funds, primarily for accommodation for a few members of our team, and the remainder of our venue fees not covered by funding. To cover the remainder of our venue costs we are aiming to raise £1000, which is our current goal for this funding outreach. Our stretch goal, £2000, would cover venue and the majority of accommodation too.
So we're asking, if you can, for a bit of help on our journey to Edinburgh Fringe, with our mad trans cow show, literally anything would be an incredible help. But if not, we just ask if you would help us to spread the word and this page around, in hopes it can see as many eyes as possible.
Thank you so much, and much love from,
Speakbeast
