Help get a Drag King character comedy show to the Edinburgh Fringe!
What is the project?
Roger Prick is a 1970s pornographer embarking on a book tour to promote the new, FEMINIST edition of his bestselling erotic novel. This is SEXOPOLIS, a character comedy Drag King extravaganza of a show by Han Whyte (that's me).
It's a satire of sleazy, lecherous old men from the perspective of a young-ish queer woman, as well as a love letter to the underbelly of old Soho. The show is heavily influenced by 1980s alternative cabaret, but with an updated focus on queerness, feminism and drag as seen through the eyes of a Drag King in 2026. I am, as Roger would say, "awake".
It will be my debut solo show, and I'm so grateful to have been given the opportunity to take my show to the hotbed of alternative comedy and share my sleazy character with audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe.
You can buy a ticket here: https://www.edfringe.com/tickets/whats-on/roger-prick-sexopolis ...but if you can't make it to Edinburgh this year, maybe you could consider donating the price of a ticket (£12.50) instead.
Why now?
Roger Prick has never been more relevant - with the terrifying rise of the manosphere, a growing cultural prudishness, and all the sex shops of Soho - for better or for worse - closing down, I am certain that now is the time to bring my feminist, vintage-fueled, comedy drag king extravaganza to the Edinburgh Fringe.
How will the money help?
I am currently funding the show with money I've saved from my day job, and the side hustles of live comedy and freelance illustration. However, in 2026 taking a show to the Fringe is really REALLY tough when it comes to costs. There's accommodation, travel, marketing, props, and crucially the flyerers and technicians and all the other people who make shows like this possible. Any donations will help me with these vital costs, so I can bring this show to the Fringe and share it with the world.
Who am I?
I am Han Whyte, a drag king and character comedian embarking on my first ever solo show. I was a finalist of Leicester Square Theatre Sketch Off! in 2025, and I have participated in Soho Comedy Labs PLUS. I perform regularly on the alternative comedy and queer cabaret scenes around London and beyond. I love dressing up as a dirty old man.
