WE NEED SUPPORT

We are exploring the invisible labour of parenting — the work that goes unseen, often taken for granted, and rarely acknowledged.

Reproducing is a devised piece created through the experiences and perspectives of our ensemble. Each of us has a complex relationship with raising children, and the project is fuelled by these experiences.

We’re incredibly grateful to have received funding to begin developing the work. However, we weren’t successful in securing the additional funding needed to continue developing and present it to an audience.

We have been invited to present Reproducing at Voila! Theatre Festival at Barons Court Theatre in London and FEAST Festival in Malvern. We’re excited to bring the work to audiences, but without funding to cover the costs, we’re turning to you for support.

Funds raised will go towards marketing, travel, venue technical support, insurance, costumes and props, helping us get Reproducing seen.

ABOUT REPRODUCING

Equipped with imaginary kitchen appliances, fragmented reflections and surreal visual imagery, Reproducing immerses audiences into the strange state of repetition, collapse, and the human realities of caregiving. Playing on the dual meaning of “reproduction”, the work examines the gap between isolation in modern parenthood and the weight of societal expectation. Seen through the lens of a migrant parent navigating inherited and contemporary ideas of raising children, it reflects the isolation created by parenting without a "village" of support. From sleepless nights and domestic repetition to the relentless cycles of care, Reproducing asks whose labour is seen, valued, or allowed to remain invisible. Through surreal domestic landscapes and fractured realities, it asks who protects the people expected to protect everyone else.
