After reaching the final of the Charlie Harthill Award, Maybe You Like It are bringing their fast paced blast of comic theatre (Chortle) Pleading Stupidity to the Pleasance Ace Dome at 7pm throughout the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August.
But stuff like putting up our lovely posters around the city, housing 6 people during the largest arts festival in the world, and building a set in Cornwall and driving it to Edinburgh (there's no other way!) is exxpensssive! So, we need your help to get there! Don't worry though, our bumbling bank robbing duo Chad and Brad have rustled up some ripper rewards for you, if you can help us out. Take a look!
Aussies Chad and Brad are Pleading Stupidity.
They robbed a bank... whilst still wearing their name tags from work. They took selfies with the stolen cash. And their crime was solved in just 8 minutes.
But who were the bank tellers behind the desk that day? What’s their story? Will anyone listen to another version of events?
Pleading Stupidity is the hilarious and unbelievable true story of two bumbling Aussie boys' calamitous bank robbery, and the stories left behind in their wake.
Told with high-energy, physical comedy, frenetic action, and verbatim speech, and featuring a multi-rolling cast playing a whole host of wacky characters, this is "a fast-paced blast of comic theatre” (Chortle).

Maybe You Like It Productions creates collaborative, high-energy stage shows, audio shows and podcasts that aim to entertain and engage audiences with accessible, comedic work. We’re interested in exploring how we frame narratives, and what difference that makes to the story we’re telling.
We entertain audiences around the UK with well-told stories and fine-tuned comedy. Our mission is to be a force for developing collaborative storytelling and comedy, and people who make comedy and tell stories.
Our vision is for a world where there are structures, spaces and paths in place to allow anyone who wants to tell stories, entertain, and make people laugh to do so, regardless of form, medium, background, geography, or employment status. A world where the best stories and the funniest ideas shine through, but those still finding what that is for them have time and space to develop.
We value collaboration, silliness, working in unison, stories, having fun with ideas, considering and shaping the audience experience, developing comedy, telling compelling stories, making fast and fluid work, joyful creative spaces, creating memorable and entertaining experiences, challenging traditional boundaries of form and media, and challenging traditional processes in theatre.
This project offers rewards in return for your donation.
