Aim

Peace Circle explores restorative justice, but needs donations to help reach audiences while at Fringe.

What is Peace Circle?

Supported by the University of Sheffield, Peace Circle is a student-written and performed production, one that investigates the blurred lines between good and bad. Using the setting of restorative justice therapy (a real-life procedure), Peace Circle navigates family relationships and addresses themes such as addiction, grief, and guilt.

The 6 characters in the single setting use repeated sessions to communicate their thoughts and emotions, all of which stem from one (unseen) crime. The play demonstrates how people grow from conversation, and expresses the importance of restorative justice.

What will donations be used for?

As students, any additional funding we receive is crucial in supporting our mission at Fringe, and donations would secure the possibility of future Edinburgh shows being backed by the university.

Being able to recoup some of the high costs brought about by Fringe would be immensely important in supporting not only the theatre company that has made this production possible (Sheffield University Theatre Company), but also reinforcing the significance of facilitating student theatre at the Fringe.

All of the money we've received so far from the university gets us to Fringe, but does not contribute to promotion or costs while at the festival. Any donations now would be immensely important in helping direct audiences to a show we've worked so hard on.

Moreover, many members of the production team and cast have sunk personal cost into the production, and any donations would help reduce the strain on their student financial situations.
