Aim

Want to see a man become a Mushroom? Going to EdFringe? You're in luck! Help us fund the venue costs for our show at the Edinburgh Fringe.

After a sell out run at Augustine's United Studio in May, the team at Heads on Crooked are excited to share that we'll be producing the spores, spreading the spores, and showing off our legs at the Mash House during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August!

Mushroomification: legs, Legs, Legs follows the unlikely (and explosive)  collision between a man and a mushroom. On one side, there is a mushroom, deep within the forest raging against the oppressive mycelial hive mind that it has been born to serve. Desperate to create a body of its own so that it might escape. On the other, a scientist by the name of Karies is working in secret on developing a human hive-mind with the hopes of saving the world, which in Karies’ mind, means making everyone more like him.

The play explores themes belonging, loneliness, and what it means to be your own person in a time that is constantly telling its characters who they should and shouldn’t be. In one world this might be a story of two lovers finding each other, in another it might be gory body horror. In this world, it sits somewhere in the middle.

PRESS:

Mushroomification has already been featured in The Skinny’s Scottish Theatre Highlights, Broadway Baby’s fringe highlights and  the Visit Scotland website, as well as receiving a 5 star review from The Student.
