What are we Crowdfunding for? 

MARY, QUEEN OF ROCK! AT EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL

Pretty Knickers Productions are a female-led, Scottish theatre company. Following a successful fringe run last year with ‘Salamander’, we set our sights high and began applying for funding in order to continue producing new work for our audiences. However, we were unsuccessful with all applications, like many of our peers. Despite this, we know how important grassroots and local theatre is to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, so we have decided to do whatever we can in order to bring our new musical to the fringe. We, like everyone in the arts, are struggling to keep producing work in the current climate, there is little to no funding for emerging artists and as the cost of living rises - putting our own money into our productions becomes less viable each year. But we are determined to continue creating the bold, innovative work that Pretty Knickers Productions is renowned for. After all, the fringe started as a showcase for all talent no matter the budget, background or backing.

That being said, if you are willing and able, to donate in order to support us in executing this exciting project to the highest possible standard we would be very grateful.

As always Pretty Knickers Productions is shooting for the stars and ‘Mary, Queen of Rock!’ will be our biggest and most daring move yet! We are tackling a new genre of theatre but you can still expect all the things you love from PKP- strong leading ladies, big belters and uproarious laughter.

We've been producing our own work since 2017 - always striving to tell poignant and playful stories with women at the heart. We believe in creating fun, challenging and multifaceted roles for women on and off the stage. By making a donation today, big or small, you are helping us to continue to create work that showcases women's stories.

What will your donation do?

Your donation will allow us to give this amazing story the platform it deserves; this year, working with a full live band; increasing production value with costume and set design; recording some of our original material and paying the artists involved in the show. 

None of the founding members of Pretty Knickers Productions take payment, but as we expand and grow our network, we do what we can to pay the artists working alongside us. By donating today you are helping PKP to continue to create exciting new work with women at the heart.
