Having discovered the perfect summer by staging "The Man From Verona" at the EdFringe in 2019, the dream of a troupe was born. It was cemented with the London debut of TMFV at Andrew Lloyd Weber's The Other Palace in London. The cast of TMFV was a dream to direct, watch, hear and live with. It became clear very quickly that I wanted to work with these lovely, talented people again and again. We had hoped to bring "Madman William" to Edinburgh for 2020 and have been video rehearsing throughout the pandemic. While even a non-official Fringe looks unlikely, we're ready to jump on the stage at the drop of a hat or a hint. 

"Madman William" is a comedy by Naomi Asher about an escape plan hatched by Hamlet, Macbeth and King Lear. They plan to escape their plays to cease dying nightly. After 400 years, they've had enough. All goes well until Will Shakespeare shows up. Set in a 1600's pub in modern day London, the laughs flow more regularly than the beer. 

The monies raised will be used to pay actors who've been hit hard by Coronavirus, rent theatre space(s), buy costumes, props and comestibles, and house and transport the cast. And for one crew member for lights as the action sweeps between the pub and Shakespeare's bedroom until the two merge.
