Over the last few years, since Black Friday has made its way across the pond, there has been an increased confusion about the meaning of Christmas. There is so much noise about what matters most – is it the amount you spend, how much you save on deals or whether your Christmas outshines your family and friends?
With many difficult events happening in the world at the moment, it seems particularly important to create feelings of warmth and comfort, small moments of joy that are unaffected by circumstances beyond our control. These moments are about the love and attention poured into celebration, which makes the season special beyond the price tag.

I need your support to record an album of a collection of carols and songs to make the Christmas period sparkle. For me, music is at the heart of Christmas as it creates a special atmosphere.
As a chorister at Southwark Cathedral, I saw firsthand how music is the charm that moves and enhances the Christmas experience. Every 1st December I look forward to hearing the music that puts me in a festive mood.
All my musical choices are very personal to me and have a story to share that makes it part of Christmas.
The album will be made up of 6 carols and 6 songs including the Sussex Carol, Calypso Carol, and The Colours of Christmas as well as classics The Christmas Song, Have yourself a merry little Christmas and White Christmas.
My social media campaign last year received over 5k on YouTube and Instagram.
Hear them here.

As an added tasty bonus, I will share my 12 Bakes of Christmas from my alter-ego, English Singing Baker. In a series of step-by-step videos I will guide you through simple ways to surprise and impress your family with my own twist on traditional treats. Although baking can seem daunting and time consuming at this busy time of year, each of my trusted recipes will add the homemade touch to your celebration without making extra stress, bringing joy to all who join you at your festive table.
There will 6 savoury and 6 sweet recipes to explore including Apple Mince Pies, Brandy Snap Baskets, Handmade Fudge, Christmas Bread, and Party ready Bruschetta.
I began this journey with a social media campaign last year. Discover a taster here.

I began my journey at Southwark Cathedral singing with the Girls Choir for 7 years, and leading as head chorister for 4. During my time there I had the opportunity to sing on BBC Radio 3 for choral evensong and on BBC 1 as well concerts in the Royal Festival Hall and Royal Albert Hall with John Rutter for his Christmas celebration.
I have been a principal with English Cabaret since 2012 performing nationally and internationally in productions including The Happy Prince, Dreams of Peace & Freedom and most recently, as Katherine Mansfield in Modernist Musical Two Tigers. In addition I have performed in cabaret, and in recent years I have created my own, I Heart Musicals, celebrating a century of song, which has run twice at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
My alter-ego, English Singing Baker was also an idea that was born at the Fringe from my love of baking whilst singing along to cast recordings. I debuted her in English Cabaret Hour in 2014 returning in 2015, preparing the bakes live on stage and giving the audience a sweet treat to go away with. I then moved her online from 2016 creating a YouTube series, ESB Monthly Bakes, with a new bake a month and 4 new songs with my trusty yellow ukulele. In 2017 I began a blog 'A Baker's Diary' to share my love of baking with a new audience. I shared regularly on Instagram including the creation of Musical Baking, a twin project with I Heart Musicals where bakes are inspired by my favourite musicals. Last year, I brought the English Singing Baker back to life to begin my 12 Bakes of Christmas journey.
