Aim

To pre-record and stream our show 'Let's Talk About...Being a Woman' with C Venues at the 2021 Edinburgh Fringe. Please see below for more.

Open Mouth is a new theatre company that was founded in 2020 by Danie McIntyre and don’t keep their mouths shut about topics you don’t want to talk about. Their previous and first piece of work ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’ (a show dedicated to pinning the issue of inaccurate sex education in schools) was first performed with Colchester’s Mercury Theatre last August in an online streamed performance.

Open Mouth's new one woman show ‘Let’s Talk About... Being a Woman’ (written and performed by Danie McIntyre and directed by Ethan Peters) is a lighthearted comedy about a University student Sophie and her journey of discovering what it means to be a woman in this world. Whether that's being viewed as a sexual object, being judged on your appearance or even having another woman in Ann Summers glare at you for buying a vibrator, nothing is what Sophie was expecting.

As a company we have been lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to pre-record our new show 'Let's Talk About...Being a Woman' with C Venues at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2021, and we couldn't be more grateful and excited to share our new comedy to raise awareness of the struggles women go through on a day to day basis and to hopefully make some women watching feel like they aren't alone and can relate to Sophie.

To take part in this years Fringe as it is online it is much cheaper (thank goodness!). However, we're still reaching out to you for your help to raise some money for us to enable us to pay for our slot fee, register with the fringe society, costume and props.

We appreciate it's been a difficult year, but if you can donate anything, or just give our link a share we'd really appreciate it!
