Help bring award winning queer comedy JESSIES to Edinburgh Fringe - A fierce celebration of chosen family and community
Jessies is an award-winning new comedy by Grant F Kidd and James T Smith that celebrates Scotland’s queer history, resilience, and chosen family. Set in the infamous Jessie’s Bar between 1980 and 1995, the play follows three drag queens and the community around them through laughter, heartbreak, glamour, and survival. After a hugely successful Scottish run and winning the Creative Arts Award at the Proud Scotland Awards 2025, we’re taking Jessies to the Edinburgh Fringe to share this fierce, funny, and deeply moving story with wider audiences. Your support will help cover venue costs, accommodation, marketing, technical production, and accessibility, giving this important LGBTQ+ story the platform it deserves at the world’s biggest arts festival. Every donation helps us celebrate the power of community, amplify queer voices, and keep stories like Jessies alive on stage.
