Our brand new Agatha Christie-esque crime drama is heading to the Edinburgh Fringe and we'd love some help with the cost of our venue...

Hello from the Dead Herrings!

We're well underway in our preparations to take Helen's brand new award winning play to Edinburgh... but it's expensive!  We're here to raise some funds to help us along the way, but more details about that later.  Firstly, what's the play about?!

London, 1947. A man is dead. His wife has killed him.

In Her Defence is an homage to Agatha Christie and focuses on the fateful marriage of Catherine and Philip Mackinder:

It started out as a play called Evil Will Come, written during lockdown 2021; so what's changed?

Where will your money go?

Our aim is to cover our costs so far:

• Venue Hire
• Fringe Registration
• Technician hire (we don't have a crew - there are just 3 of us plus 2 very helpful children!)
• Rehearsal space

Our ultimate aim for this show is to gain exposure with a view to getting In Her Defence published; it's target audience is amateur and professional groups looking for one-act festival plays to perform.  The more money we can find to cover the expenses above, the more we can spend on promotion and marketing and getting the play on the shelves!
