Raising funds to take four new musicals to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2026 and record cast albums! BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE REWARDS!!!

We are Grownup Playhouse, a passionate young production company looking to create and stage new musical theatre. We have taken four original musicals to the Edinburgh Fringe for the last two years, sold almost 4000 tickets and we don’t plan on stopping…but, we do need your support!
The Edinburgh Fringe is (famously) not cheap and this year we are striving to go bigger and better than ever before. We are moving from amateur to professional as we strive to pay all of our creatives and performers for all their hard work. Not just a profit share, as most Fringe shows run on, but a wage that helps pay for their accommodation, travel and living.
We also hope to record cast albums for all of our musicals, which means we need support!
Now! Onto the fun stuff!

The first musical we wrote, The Detective’s Demise is a 1 hour 20 minute murder mystery comedy musical returning to the Fringe for the third time with new songs, new twists and new turns. Created by Michael Rincón and Thomas Rolph (Rincón & Rolph), it has received great praise from both audiences and critics alike and we’re very excited to see the show in such a long form at the Fringe.
“Everything you want in a musical; good music, wonderful vocals, jokes, dancing, discussions about relationships and talented, well-cast actors” - My View From The Stalls

First appearing on stage in 2025, this new musical is about a group of friends trapped in Escape Room: The Show! Created by Rincon & Rolph, this jazzy piece of musical theatre has gone under some major rewrites going into next year and we’re very excited to put on the new version of the show!
“A fast-paced, sharp-witted play that’s equal parts chaotic fun and emotional reflection” - Theatre and Tonic

Grownup Playhouse’s first ever children’s show (and picture book), this show was warmly welcomed at the Fringe 2025. Written by Tom Rolph with music and lyrics by Joe Sartin, Adam Marké (Marké & Mojo) and Rincón & Rolph. Following the adventure of a young girl, Milly, who comes from a world without music and must head out to find music and bring it back home. The songs for this show are on youtube, but we’re hoping they will be hitting Spotify in the new year (with your support!!!)
“If you enjoy wholesome, creative shows with a positive message, plenty of jokes for adults and children to enjoy, [and] singing animals…then this is the show for you” - Theatre and Tonic

Charming! The Musical (the show formally known as To Be A Prince) is a one man musical focused around an arrogant disney-style Prince. Written by Tom Rolph with music and lyrics by Marké & Mojo, and Rincón & Rolph. We have brought this show up for the last two years, but next year it will be coming up with a whole new look! We are very excited to be updating the show and making it even bigger than before!
“Complete with catchy anthems, this show is the ultimate feel-good hour of fairytale-themed comedy.” - Kat Masterson

Our final show and new to our roster, we have plans to do a cabaret show in an early morning slot where the audience will be treated to pastries and songs! Everyday we will be inviting three musicals from the big list of shows coming to the Fringe to come and perform to an audience of people as a way of advertising their shows and entertaining the crowds!
If you would like to see past versions of any of our shows then please follow the link below to our youtube channel:

Now, you have an idea of what our shows are, we’d like to show you just what your money will be helping to support. We want to be as transparent as possible in displaying how much a Fringe show can cost to put on, which is why we will put some costs below, so you can see exactly where your money is going to and how important it is to us.

To incentivise you to feel like you’re getting the most out of your donations we are not only offering rewards, but showing you what we will be doing once we reach certain milestones on our journey to our big target!
The Rewards offered on the right hand side have estimated dates of delivery. We will aim to send what we can for that date (or if you donate earlier then long before), but some things simply won’t be possible by the 1st March and we hope you understand that we will try and best to deliver on the rewards as soon as we can.
To summarise all that we’ve been saying, we have so much passion and love for these shows and every single person who has worked on them since 2023, but we need support with realising our vision. Your donations would allow us to focus more of our time on improving the shows, whilst still being able to afford to pay our cast and creatives what they deserve and reaching new heights along the way!!!
We appreciate not everyone is able to contribute, but thank you for reading and please send to friends, family, enemies and strangers!
Many thanks from
Tom, Michael and everyone else at Grownup Playhouse
