To support the debut show from two friends who want to fulfil a long-held ambition of performing at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Our Show:
“Giving up the Ghost” is the debut show of Brown-Wilson Productions. This black comedy centres around the themes of grief and of friendship between young men in the twenty-first century. Jack has recently lost his best friend Michael to a tragic accident and is trapped in a damaging, depressive state. At his lowest point, a ghostly Michael suddenly appears to him, with neither of them quite sure how nor why. They decide to capitalise on this ghoulish opportunity and set out to accomplish everything they hadn’t managed to do when Michael was still alive. Cue an adventure around Europe’s iconic attractions, a gradual ticking off a beyond the grave bucket-list and an exploration of what it takes to come to terms with loss and to finally move on.
Our Company:
Brown-Wilson Productions is a new company set up by two friends and aspiring performers. George Brown is a freelance writer who has graduated with First Class Honours in both a BA in English Literature and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Exeter. James Wilson is currently studying at Drama Studio London and has an accomplished acting CV, starting from an early age. James has performed in TV shows such as “Holby City”; “The Borgias” and the BBC Drama “Our World War” as well as a multi-year stint as “The Boy” in the west-end production of “The Snowman.” Both performers will be making their Fringe debut.
Your Funding:
We want to put on a show that is technically dynamic, creatively staged and, above all else, hugely entertaining for our audiences. To do this, we need the support of our friends and family, as well as the wider creative community, to raise money for all aspects of putting on such a show. Your funding will go towards our venue, production costs and press and marketing. We are an unknown, amateur company who are relying on our passion and not our bank accounts to get us to Edinburgh and so anything you can offer us will prove invaluable.
Where we will be:
We are delighted to say we will be performing at the Ivy Studio at Greenside @ Infirmary Street from the 5th-13th August 2022. Our show time is 13.45PM and runs for fifty minutes. We hope to see you all there!
What we can give you:
We would like to offer anybody that donates £20 or over the chance to come and see our show for free so please do get in touch with us after you donate. We want as many people as possible to join this crazy journey with us!
