We're still collecting donations
On the 16th July 2023 we'd raised £3,248 with 87 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

On the 16th July 2023 we'd raised £3,248 with 87 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
If we are lucky enough to reach our goal, any extra money will go towards further development of the show and hopefully sharing it with more audiences.
ABOUT ME
My name is Ella, I am from Oldham in Greater Manchester. I have grown up devising and creating theatre. I went to Bristol Old Vic Theatre School to learn about all things backstage in theatre with the idea of one day creating my own shows and now, producing alongside PINCHY theatre, the day is here.
I have always loved telling stories and while I have devised and created theatre for over a decade, writing a script never seemed like something I could do. Then in 2020, when we were all locked indoors and everything went online, I was able to join a writers group. Around this time, my dad became ill with mental health issues which was really difficult to navigate and a lot of responsibility to do with his care fell to me. The writers group gave me an outlet and a safe space to share over the next 4 years and for the last year and a half I have been writing this show, End of the World.
I wanted to include these experiences because bar a few fantastic TV shows such as Alma’s Not Normal and In My Skin, I haven’t seen a parent-child caring relationship especially around mental health in mainstream media. Those TV shows made me feel less alone and I hope this show will do that for someone else. It may all sound doom and gloom but my favourite theatre has lots of laughs as well which is what we are creating as we enter the world of Mel and Em.

ABOUT THE SHOW
A buddy comedy for an existential generation. Mel and Em carry the responsibilities of the modern age. Through anecdotes of much-loved aunties and much-hated colleagues, they reveal their plans to change the world. Em soon finds herself her dad's next of kin, forcing personal and global crises to collide. A fast-talking story about female friendship, and our responsibility to those around us. When being pulled in all directions, whose voice do you listen to? End of the World explores what's expected of us, what we put on ourselves and the cost of putting someone else first.
We are telling a story about female friendship and in this spirit, our creative team are all women: our writer, director and producers as well as our actors, set designer and graphic designer.

In March we were lucky enough to receive £2000 of Keep It Fringe funding to be able to take the show to the Fringe. It is only because of funding like Keep It Fringe that I even thought I could bring a show to Edinburgh Fringe because it is such an expensive undertaking. I know how lucky I am that we have been given that money but unfortunately we have a lot more costs to cover. This is why we are launching this crowdfunder.

BREAKDOWN OF FUNDS
We want to be transparent about where your money is going, so I've made a piechart to show what we will spend the money on.
£2200 towards the Venue
£400 Set
£200 Props
£200 Flyers - an important part of finding our audience in Edinburgh
£200 towards travel
If we are lucky enough to reach this target any extra money will go towards further development of the show and sharing it with as many audiences as possible.
