We’re currently in the crucial stages of developing the critically-acclaimed, DRUM for its debut at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2024.
DRUM, a joyful and poignant play fusing storytelling, music and dance with archival material to capture a unique snapshot of London in the swinging sixties, made its debut at Omnibus Theatre 2022. We're now on a mission to expand DRUM's reach.
Our Story
DRUM, is an award-winning genre-spanning play, paying homage to the collaboration of two unsung heroes in the Ghanaian diaspora, photographer James Barnor & BBC broadcaster Mike Eghan in 1967. Produced by my production company, Our Day, with a successful premiere Omnibus that gained raving reviews in 2022, DRUM explores belonging & migration; celebrating the power of friendship & the resilience of migrants in London.

Our Current Stage
We’re currently in the crucial stages of developing DRUM for its debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, as we have ambitions to expand the play’s reach regionally/internationally (especially to locations where this historical reimagination wouldn't be told otherwise).
Thankfully, DRUM was selected for The £10,000 Untapped Award by Underbelly, NDT & Concord Theatricals. However, we still have £20,000 to raise for:
The current cost-of-living crisis paired with the accommodation costs at Edinburgh during festival season far exceeds our budget. These costs/expenses are the barrier between a brilliant story and a rare opportunity - especially for most marginalised artists, who are simply unable to take the financial risk of performing in Edinburgh.

Our Day
Our Day is a production company focused on creating and producing stories that highlight the experiences of the Ghanaian community in the UK Diaspora and on the continent.
Our Day produced DEM TIMES, a successful fiction podcast show which has been nominated for a UK Audio Production award as well as an AMBIE and British Podcast Cast Award. This podcast attracted over 50k downloads.
Our play, DRUM, was written on the Soho Writers lab and R&D’d at Camden Peoples Theatre and Omnibus Theatre, the latter came on board as co-producers.
