We aim to take our new musical - celebrating the lives of the women who worked at Bletchley Park - to Edinburgh Fringe.
ChopLogic Productions

ChopLogic Productions is a newly established theatre company made up of six women creating dynamic and progressive work for all audiences to enjoy. A contemporary take on traditional musical theatre, we use original music to immerse the audience into stories of the past. Our work is bold, new, exciting and celebrates the lives of women everywhere.
Dots and Dashes

Dots and Dashes: A Bletchley Park Musical is our debut production centred around the lives of six women working at Bletchley Park during World War Two. Bletchley Park was an operation headed by the British Government used to spy on the German army and use the information they gathered to assist our soldiers. The mission was top secret, and the truth about Bletchley was only revealed 30 years after the war had ended.
By the end of the war, Bletchley Park was made up of two thirds women, whose story could never be told until years later, and that many people still don't really know.
A story of love, loss, secrets and the sacrifices these women made to save millions of lives, to rise above their roles, and silently fight a war behind closed doors.
A musical ode to the unsung heroes of World War Two, Dots and Dashes: A Bletchley Park Musical is a celebration of those women: this show is their story.

Why is this show important?
Dots and Dashes is a feminist retelling of a male dominated narrative - not only in its plot but also in its creation. An all female team from design to script to musical composition, this piece is important as it challenges the expectations of musical theatre whilst drawing a parallel between women's rights in 1940 to 2022.
Male writers outnumber women 9:1 in the west end and out of 88 shows only 3 have female creative teams. With very few mainstream musicals having an all female creative team and cast, we want to bring a new show into the mix consisting of 6 women who have written, composed and performed the show entirely.
With the show focusing on empowering women, and looking at issues women still face today, we aspire to send a message of hope, and a brighter future. Alongside the relevance of our show to women today, we want to celebrate the efforts of the workers at Bletchley Park during World War 2 in a way that hasn't been seen before.

How will we use the money?
The money we raise will all be used towards taking our production to Edinburgh Fringe in August. Accommodation, transport and venue hire amount to several thousands of pounds and as our show is entirely self funded any money towards us taking this to Fringe would be massively helpful. We believe this show is full of potential, and the opportunity to take a female led musical to Edinburgh Fringe would be an incredible one for us to have.
Thank you so much.
