'Death of an Author' presents itself as a traditional murder-mystery piece, yet we quickly realise that the suspects are quite out of the ordinary: they are all female literary characters written by men, who have somehow been robbed of a proper narrative or whose character development has been exploited. Throughout the play, we get to know each one of them both singularly and together; each of them has been ‘killed’ by a male author and here they regain power over their narrative as we navigate the stories they were written in and the ones that they have yet to tell.
We think the piece is incredibly important and we can't wait to share it with even more people, its devised nature makes it a celebration of storytelling and female experiences, putting creativity centre stage and bringing different people together.
We are fundraising to cover initial costs for venue and registration, every little helps so please donate if you can, it really would mean the world to us!!
