Aim

Behind Closed Doors is a gripping LGBTQ+ drama exploring love, betrayal, addiction and emotional abuse as a relationship unravels.

Behind Closed Doors is an intensely personal project inspired by my own experiences. The story draws from past relationships marked by toxicity, manipulation and emotional abuse, as well as the mental health struggles and drug addiction that affected my life.

Rather than simply retelling those experiences, this play transforms them into a conversation about the hidden realities many people face behind closed doors. It explores how love can become control, how trust can be broken, and the lasting impact these experiences can have on a person's wellbeing.

Our vision is to bring this story to the Fringe in an honest, thought-provoking and emotionally engaging way. We want audiences to leave not only moved by the characters but also reflecting on the importance of recognising unhealthy relationships, supporting those who are struggling, and encouraging open conversations around mental health and addiction.

The money raised through this Crowdfunder will help cover venue costs, technical equipment, set and costume design, marketing, rehearsal expenses and accessibility needs. Every contribution will go directly towards creating the highest-quality production possible and giving this important story the platform it deserves.

By supporting Behind Closed Doors, you're helping independent theatre tackle difficult subjects with compassion, authenticity and hope.
