Aim

I've been given the opportunity to take my show to Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year with Underbelly! But I need your help to get there.

The journey so far...

Next stop, Edinburgh Fringe.

I'm so excited to share the news that I've been offered an incredible slot for my theatre show BASIC BALD B*TCH at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Underbelly for a full run from 5th - 30th August! Have a look at our page here

It's a huge opportunity.

However, it seems impossible to take a show to the Fringe if you’re not self-funding, which isn't an option for me. The costs mount up so quickly! From the registration fee to venue hire, marketing to accommodation, travel and all those hidden costs along the way.

Your donation would make a massive difference. Any amount, no matter how much, goes a long way. And if donating isn't something you can do right now, simply sharing this page with friends and family would be a big help.

What is BASIC BALD B*TCH?

Written and performed by Emily Glaze and directed by Sarah Stacey, this one-hour, one-woman, one-night stand of a show is making its debut at Edinburgh Fringe 2026.

Hair is everything. Until it’s not. Until it’s 2007 Britney b*tch.

Everyone wants to be Amy. Until her hair falls out in all the wrong places. After a knotty mess of swimming caps, cat shit and four-finger foreheads, things buried threaten to rear their ugly bald head. She can’t stop thinking about the door. Her bedroom door. And the man hiding behind it.

Now Amy attempts to take back her body, one fake eyebrow at a time.

BASIC BALD B*TCH uses drag and comedy to explore desire, gender and the lengths we go to hide who we really are. Inspired by my lived experiences of having alopecia and navigating the aftermath of an assault.

'A charming sense of humour ripples throughout' - Papatango Prize

'Fast-paced, moving, beautiful' - Audience member, Brixton House sharing

'Currently writing this with tears in my eyes, I absolutely adored this piece' - Reader, Theatre503

The Creative Team

I'm so lucky to have such an incredible creative team that have joined me along the way. From my Director to Dramaturg to my Producing team, Movement Director, Lighting Designer, Sound Designer, Set Designer and Stage Manager. They are the show. It wouldn't have been possible to get this far without them.

Where will the money go?

Your donation will help with:

  • Upfront registration fees and venue hire
  • Paying creative artists fairly for their work
  • Travel and accommodation
  • Marketing & PR

Price Breakdown

£30 could pay for a Technical Operator for one of our performances

£60 could cover transport costs to get me and my set to Edinburgh

£100 could pay for flyers & posters

£500 could cover a whole week of rehearsal space

However, there is no amount too small. All I'm looking for is the price of a coffee. If you're not in a position to be able to donate right now, simply sharing this page far and wide would be amazing.

With your help we can make Fringe possible, thank you so much! x
